Helene is an ex-ABC journalist and audio documentary producer who had a dream to bring storytelling to the world with her own custom designed mobile story telling studio. Together we worked to create a strategy that reflected her values and personality as well as a service that the community could embrace. In July 2018 Helene’s dream was realised as she launched The Wayfinder at Tasmania’s iconic mid-winter festival, collecting stories from everyone who was bold enough to enter her most intimate and soul touching world.
“I still remember the day I found her. Her beautiful pixie-like face smiling back at me from her website. I knew straight away that she was ‘The One’. Naomi Gora, You are such a fabulous woman. You have a tremendous talent for helping people turn their dreams into reality and making the journey fun and deeply inspiring. You held my hand when I didn’t really know what I was doing or where I was going, and then… Just when you knew I was ready. You let go. And watched me fly.

BRAND PERSONALITY
The Guardian of the Stories
The Wayfinder Mobile Storytelling Studio is a representation of ‘The Guardian of the Stories’ brand personality that combines modern audio technology with sacred storytelling. The name ‘The Wayfinder’ comes from a combination of the ethereal and from technology/software design. Wayfinding is a term used to aid software design to create programs/apps that are intuitive and easy to use. They are designed to show people the way – with no instructions necessary. However, the art of wayfinding has also been extended to the real world, in terms of things like shop design (so shops are built in a way that intuitively leads people to find what they’re looking for and purchase). Wayfinding can also be extended to the philosophical world; a way to help people awaken something inside themselves or connect with others in a way that creates a new perspective or ‘way’ for them; one of daring, beauty and integrity.
From the outside, the mobile storytelling studio looks like a piece of technology – a recording device (e.g. ipod shuffle) yet Inside is an intimate warm cosy, safe and atmospheric environment to encourage honest, vulnerable and daring storytelling. When you’re lost you see something in others and their stories and find a new piece of yourself, a new way of thinking or being. Without others, we’d be stagnant. The Wayfinder logo represents the mirroring of ourselves in others, and others in ourselves through sacred storytelling and the audio medium.
